Macy's Believe Campaign

Macy’s invites America to believe this holiday season! When you share the magic of season, you can also help grant wishes! #MacysBelieve.  Believers of all ages can bring their stamped letter to Macy’s addressed to Santa at The North Pole, and drop it into the special letterbox. Or, new this year, create and send a letter online at macys.com/believe. For each letter received, Macy’s will donate $1 to Make-A-Wish, up to $1,000,000.

How does it work?

Macy’s and Make-A-Wish® are celebrating the 7th year of the Believe campaign.

Macy's "Believe" campaignhas raised $10.8 million for Make-A-Wish over the past seven years.  It draws its inspiration from the true story of an 8-year-old girl named Virginia who wrote a letter to the editor of the New York Sun newspaper in 1897 asking if Santa exists. The editor's response --"Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist…"-- reassured her and inspired the nostalgic campaign for kids and kids at heart.

The story was later made into a TV movie called Yes, Virginia (2009)
