BLUE SHIRT DAY: BULLYING PREVENTION MONTH

October is National Bullying Prevention Month.  STOMP Out Bullying'sgoals during National Bullying Prevention Month are to “increase the awareness of the prevalence and impact of bullying on all children of all ages” with a different theme for each week of the month, beginning with Blue Shirt Day World Day of Bullying Prevention on Monday, October 5th.

Blue Shirt Day is a day where kids, teens and adults alike could make the first Monday of every October the day that bullying prevention is heard around the world as everyone wear a Blue Shirt in solidarity to STOMP Out Bullying!

  1. The week of October 12th: Make friends with someone you don’t know at school
  2. The week of October 19th: STAND UP for Others Week
  3. The week of October 26th: Students can participate by: creating an act of random kindness and challenging others to do the same, or creating a positive message of their own on post-its and handing them out to students at their school.
Every day 1 out of 7 kids and teens are approached online by predators, 1 out of 4 kids are bullied and depending on their ages, up to 40% of young people say they have been the victim of digital aggression. Eight percent of kids stay home from school everyday for fear of being bullied.
